Kimberly Drew Joins PAMM Lecture Series With Loni Johnson

Last updated:

The Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) continues its efforts to amplify African-American art in the latest edition of the Scholl Lecture Series, which features a conversation with Kimberly Drew and Loni Johnson.

Drew, publicly known by her social media handle @MuseumMammy, is the disruptive millennial writer, curator, and activist democratizing the art world. Johnson is a visual artist, activist, and professor born in Miami. The two will join intellectual forces February 13th at PAMM in celebration of Black History month, as well as the Museum’s ‘Fund for African American Art’. The conversation is expected to surround Drew’s “Contemporary Black Art” – the Tumblr blog that catapulted her career. Furthermore, Johnson will delve into her work with The MET and Studio Museum of Harlem, and her upcoming book, “Black Futures”. RSVP for the lecture online at PAMM.org.

Established in 2013, the Fund for African American Art allows PAMM to purchase contemporary artwork by African-Americans for its permanent collection. Learn more about how to support the fund online.
